Katie Hackett

Katie joined RCKa in 2022, after completing the MArch programme at The University of Edinburgh where she was awarded a distinction and shortlisted for The RIAS Architecture and Design Scotland Urban Design Award. It was at The Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture where she embarked upon a two-year integrated studio unit with an in-depth commitment to ‘research through making’. Katie has a passion for sensitive and socially conscious architecture with thoughtful detailing and purpose.

Since university, Katie has worked on the planning application submission for the refurbishment and extension of a Grade A Listed, Art Deco Lido Pavilion in Scotland, working alongside heritage consultants. At RCKa, Katie is currently working on the planning application submission for the 100% affordable Broadfields Estate Infill scheme and supporting the Birmingham Smithfield team.

Alongside her work at RCKa, Katie is currently studying for her Part 3 qualification to become a qualified architect.
