Chris Barnes

Chris joined RCKa in 2020, having studied at London Metropolitan University. Bringing his extensive experience in the education sector to RCKa, Chris is currently working to deliver a new exemplar SEND education and therapy centre in Surrey. Passionate about sustainable architecture, Chris recently qualified as a certified Passivhaus Designer.

Chris previously worked at Cottrell and Vermeulen Architecture and Ushida Findley on projects such as the RIBA award winning Streatham and Clapham High School and the Arcelormittal Orbit Tower at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

His postgraduate studies focused on the displacement of communities by large scale urban projects. Focusing on the regeneration of Elephant and Castle, he worked with local community and business and groups to propose meaningful interventions to the emerging masterplan that celebrated and supported communities fractured by change.

Outside of RCKa, Chris is a published illustrator having collaborated on a book for SEN children and families.
