RCKa shortlisted for two housing design awards

Following on from last year’s win at the Housing Design Awards for Highgate Newtown Community Centre, RCKa has been shortlisted for two further awards this year – both for completed projects.

Our Park House retirement living development provides 38 new homes in the heart of the Hertfordshire town of Harpenden, achieving a remarkable level of density within three mid-rise villas.

At Seaford, our Hortsley development for PegasusLife, utilises an innovative wintergallery arrangement, doubling as both circulation and amenity space, which was designed from the outset to encourage social interaction between residents, helping to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.

The Housing Design Awards, organised by Design for Homes, were launched in 1948 to reward better municipal post-war rebuilding, and are one of the most prestigious prizes for architects today.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 11th July.
