RCKa’s Hortsley development in Seaford for specialist later-living developer PegasusLife is one of 36 projects longlisted for the 2019 MacEwen Award.
The award, run by the RIBA Journal, recognises “architecture for the common good” and is a celebration of projects which go beyond good design to truly recognise the positive impact that excellent buildings can have on the lives of those who inhabit them.
RCKa was previously highly commended in the inaugural MacEwen Award in 2015 for its TNG Youth & Community Centre in recognition of the profound impact the project had made on the lives of the young people of Lewisham, commending in particular what judges described as an “astonishing level of stakeholder involvement”.
Winners will be announced at the end of January.
